China Supplies Data To WHO About Clusters of Respiratory Illness

Chinese health authorities have provided the requested data on an increase in respiratory illnesses and reported clusters of pneumonia in children, and have not detected any unusual or novel pathogens, the World Health Organization (WHO) said. From a report: The WHO had asked China for more information on Wednesday after groups including the Program for Monitoring Emerging Diseases reported clusters of undiagnosed pneumonia in children in north China. As per the rule, China responded to the WHO within 24 hours. The WHO had sought epidemiologic and clinical information as well as laboratory results through the International Health Regulations mechanism.

Epidemiologists have warned that as, China heads into its first winter since the lifting of zero-Covid restrictions, natural levels of immunity to respiratory viruses may be lower than normal, leading to an increase in infections. Several countries, including the US and the UK, experienced large waves of respiratory viral infections in the first winter after Covid restrictions were lifted as people had lower natural levels of immunity. For young children, lockdowns delayed the age at which they were first exposed to common bugs.

Oh, and, by the way: Like I said, I'm all for people not getting vaccinated. I really enjoyed the lockdown and I absolutely wish for another one. The fewer people get vaccinated, the more severe the infections, the more severe the infections, the more stress and burden on the hospitals and the more hospitals get close to being overrun, the higher the chance that the authorities will issue another lockdown.

Very few. My grandma actually punched a medical official because he refused to vaccinate me against smallpox when I was a baby since it was no longer a common disease.

She lost two brothers to that when she was a kid. Watching loved ones die kinda makes you sensitive to such things.

Seriously, you're linking an outbreak of pediatric respiratory illness in China to canine respiratory illness in the US. Do you have any actual evidence supporting this? Are they both viral or bacterial? Do they have a common pathogen? Are the pathogens remotely similar?

Oh, they both have coughing, fever and labored breathing. That narrows it down to just about every seasonal disease that becomes more common when it's cold and people are indoors, in closer proximity and breathing drier air.

Well, I've seen (in my own direct surrounding) more people keel over after they had their covid shots then before, people who where perfectly fit and never sick turn around after they got their shot and had mysterious heartattacks, feeling very tired and being sick all of the time. Personally, I'll see with every different type of pandemic what I'll do, but with the covid one, I never tested or got my shot, and I was exposed to people with serious covid, but I never got sick (but of course took my distance

Figure one [oup.com] shows a significant difference in infection incidence depending on prior infections. It's also quite established that the current vaccines are not as efficient against the newer variants as they were against the old ones. In combination, this does indeed make sense, if a vaccine prevented you from contracting an earlier variant and it's more likely to get infected if you have not been infected yet, you should expect to see a higher infection rate.

The elephant in the room is that the CDC has admitted there are no double-blind placebo-controlled trials demonstrating efficacy of -any- vaccine, and no official vax versus unvaxxed studies. What really surprises me is that, after all the bullshit, they are still working with the WHO. Given all the stuff about the origin of COVID, and demands for the WHO to "properly investigate", it's too their credit that they keep on good terms. Sweden had no lockdowns, but had the same problem with RSV. It's not immunity debt, it is immune system damaged by COVID-19. There's a lot of research on this (just search for T-cell exhaustion after COVID-19). Who knew, getting sick isn't making people healthier.
