Cyberattack Hits City of Pensacola After Shooting At Naval Air Station (cnn.com) 13

The city of Pensacola, Florida, has been dealing with a cyberattack since late Friday when a Saudi Air Force trainee killed three sailors at Pensacola Naval Air Station. Officials for the city are unsure whether the incidents are related. CNN reports: The city of Pensacola, Florida, said it has experienced a cyber "incident" and has disconnected several city services until the issue can be resolved. Mayor Grover Robinson told CNN affiliate WEAR the city has been dealing with a cyberattack since late Friday. The city said the issue has impacted city emails and phones, 311 customer service and online payments, including Pensacola Energy and Pensacola Sanitation Services. However, 911 and emergency services are not impacted. As for whether the cyberattack is related to the Friday shooting, Kaycee Lagarde, a spokeswoman for the mayor, said: "It's really too early to say one way or another. We are still assessing this. We understand that it's on people's mind but we just don't know at this point."

Lagarde said the incident was reported to the FBI and Homeland Security as a precaution.

So, how did Ron Jeremy not get noticed by the NSA, FBI, DIA, CIA & DHS? The Patriot act and more should have provided unfettered access to this guy's musings.

    • How would anyone have noticed that a guy from Saudi Arabia with access to a military base, who got insulted and lodged an official complaint against the Navy and then bought a handgun? It is asking too much.

      • If you already have clearance to be on a base then you're not going to draw attention for any of the other stuff. The complaint stuff sounds like cultural differences or something since I can't imagine too many American men who would bother to enlist being bothered by a name like that and most would almost consider it a term of endearment. Service members buy guns all the time and if they're still serving they're one of the few people that even the most staunch anti-gun proponents would still permit to own

      • BTW, speaking of "stash", what's up with that on his upper lip. The 80's are calling.

That was apparently the type of stash/stache the instructor was referencing in the insult. It had nothing to do with his hoard of gay porn.

  • Would this cyberattack consist of an email attachment containing a Microsoft Word document containing Microsoft Windows Malware.

You know you've landed gear-up when it takes full power to taxi.
