Cloud deployment has limits, especially in the area of long term trust that the application will still run after 20-30 years, also your product that you may want to be deployed you are going to need tighter control than that what the Cloud Service has to offer. Cloud is far from the answer to everything, but why license VMware when you can use KVM or Hyper-V for free?
