Hotmail breaks compatibility with Firefox 3-> 2

Submitted by Anonymous Coward
An anonymous reader writes "According to various reports across the web, Hotmail's full version doesn't work with Firefox 3, and users get the following message when they try to login: You are temporarily on the classic version of Windows Live Hotmail due to an error encountered during login. Before trying again, please clear your cache and cookies. Given that Firefox 3 betas have been publicly available for months, one would think that Microsoft would have tested their flagship email service with the latest version of a browser that is used by over 15% of internet users worldwide."

Hotmail breaks compatibility with Firefox 3

  • I do not have this problem with Firefox 3. I am logged in to hotmail right now and I get the full version fine. I am wondering why it doesn't work for others.
  • Well I guess I was wrong, but I do not get the message when I login in. I doubt they are blocking any browser on purpose. I fail to see how anyone can think a website owner should be required to make their page so a certain web browser does work with it. If you do not use hotmail, then I do see why you would be complaining about it at all, since it effects you in no way what so ever. If you don't like it, don't use it. That is what the spirit of freedom is all about. You have the freedom to use it or not us
